What is the best alternative to Alby custodial lightning wallet that supports NWC so I can use it in #Amethyst for zapping people?
For the amount of zaps I receive it's not worth it getting the AlbyHub (or some other hosted node for 20k+ sats per month) and I'm currently homeless, so I can't run node "at home".

Alby hub was really straightforward to setup and migrate from their shared node. Any reason you don't want to do that?
Since I'm changing locations a lot it's not possible for me to have a stable box running "at home" and it would be offline majority of the time (even though I want to use it when traveling/moving). If I run the node in some VPS, then the price is prohibitively high for the amount of zaps I receive or send.
Run Alby Hub on your computer or laptop. If you are homeless you need to get a stable place to live first but if you have a laptop you can spin up the node for periods of stability.
It's more important that you find a steady place to live than anything else. I've had periods of homelessness so I know what I'm talking about. Get stable and then get the server stuff.
What I meant by "homeless" is that I'm traveling a lot recently without having a base "home" and like I want to be able to zap while I'm at the airport or restaurant or generally on the way somewhere. I shouldn't have used the term and I'm sorry if it triggered some bad memories.
And so this means that I can't really have self hosted box, because it would be unplugged most of the time and I would be a horrible lightning peer.
I have minibits and coinos ready to go for this exact same reason, but so far I haven't figured out how to make it work.
So I figured it out. The best option seems to be connecting coinos via nwc to Amethyst and then optionally connecting it with Alby Go wallet to have nice mobile wallet.
Here's how:
You get nostr:nprofile1qqst4qyeqenw7zm0fwjsty68h6cnys5jre2xd8ngqpjv5a2j26s78fspzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujucm0d9hx7uewd9hj75a0pev account and copy the connection string (see screenshot) and then in #Amethyst you hold the lightning symbol under any post and then you press the "paste" button (see the second screenshot) and that's all you need. For extra points you can install Alby Go wallet and connect it with coinos using the same string. This gives you better experience than the standard web coinos.io version.
Hey that worked, thanks! I've been hunting for how to do that. It looks like coinos updated their webpage to make it clearer and able pull the details into Amethyst which is great. It took a bit for it to go through but it eventually did.
