In the silence
of sesshin
I sat Zazen
again and again
In the stillness even
thoughts no longer arose
no Zen poems, just silence
not a thought or word of prose
In the
silence of sesshin
These was
no more ‘me’
Just Beingness,
no body or mind
ever seen again
In the
silence of sesshin
Mind dissolves
all the phenomena
that has arisen
throughout the
vastness of the universe
of this sense of duality
In the
silence of sesshin
Realization occurs of
the Oneness of Reality
In the
silence of sesshin
the Essence of Samadhi
absolutely does begin
In the
silence of sesshin
One’s Mind
Awakens in Samadhi
According to Dogen:
The Buddha says:
“When you monks unify
your minds, the mind is
in samadhi. Since the mind
is in samadhi, you know the
characteristics of the creation
and destruction of the various
phenomena in the world”
In the
silence of sesshin
It was all Yaza
on day seven
Is this Reality or
just an insightful vision
Basho’s famous frog
appears to sit Zazen
In the
silence of sesshin
