Yesterday I found out my dad has testicle cancer (again) and ALSO a problem in his lung that could be cancer too. They would route (relay) the files for you just not permenantly store them. They may temp store them but would delete to make room for newer posts. For large images, gigs, or videos I would recommend paying for a discord server and using them to deploy your files. Or run your own server and nostr relay.
It is trivial for a client or server to filter out files to be uploaded by type and size. That's why your unable to attach for example a PDF file to a post.
I had no idea how bad it was until finding out that my friends in Asheville haven't been in contact with anyone since 7:30AM.
We suspect they are ok and we know that my best friend is out with the search and rescue crew in the area, but his wife is at home with a small baby without power and hopefully with enough supplies to make it through. But the whole area in Western NC looks awful and we have no idea how long before they can even be reached. I've tried to collect as much as I can quickly for what's going on.
Blowing Rock and Boone, NC have been hit seriously bad, we literally go there every year, its one of our favorite places in the world.
Chimney Rock has been essentially wiped out and there is still danger of the Lure Lake dam breaking, but so far it seems to have held even though the water is flowing over it. I haven't heard anything new from that and hopefully the biggest danger is past now.
My friend's parents are trapped in Black Mountain, NC (not far from Asheville) but we've gotten word from them they the road has been destroyed and they are trying to figure out how to get to my friend's wife and get out, but it seems there are no roads accessible. It's all just an asstounding mess.
A lot of these places literally have just one or two roads in and out of them, and it seems like main accesses all over the place have just been decimated. Praying for these guys.

Yep, they are trying to clear out old accounts and storage space. Going to be many people who will lose everything they stored with google. I only have account for YouTube anymore. Much cooler to use proton as a free account and use Tuta as a paid (or free) email provider for important things.
Its an open network anyone can participate even banks and states and countries. That they are evolving their positions on it shows growth of the network. They can only control what you give them to borrow against or what they take possession of themselves. When its widely viewed as a savings technology it will be widely accepted as a unit of account. Its adoption happening. Bitcoin is a savings technology that opens up financial services to billions of unserved world citizens. It gives people a chance to save for a better life, which is hope for billions of people. Hope is all any of us need to continue to get up day after day and make the lives of yourself and loved ones better. Have faith!
You think that the elite have more control of bitcoin than its users? Do you run a node or miner or gave self custody? Its the self interest of those that do that give it its value and its the savers that set the bottom of the bear markets. By that metric we know that adoption is happening.
Did you hear that Louisiana became first state to accept bitcoin lightning payments for taxes and bank of NY Mellon just got sec approval for bitcoin custody (letting the old established players get in before fintech banks like Custodia).
