Relays usually do not double down as media storage.

Check out nostr.build ( nostr:npub137c5pd8gmhhe0njtsgwjgunc5xjr2vmzvglkgqs5sjeh972gqqxqjak37w care to help the dude?) and nostr satellite.earth client cdn. Depending nostr client you use, almost all support direct upload to the first one, the second one benefits is great size on the videos, you copy the link and paste in a note. Or you can post the video link directly in a note if you host them somewhere. For live streams zap.stream or again just the direct link to m3u8.

Some others include nostrcheck.me with a dedicated private relay (same name as the service) and void.cat

If you are a creator creatr.nostr.wine is for that and has a dedicated relay for your subscribers πŸ€™

I would want everyone to be able to see a post. Not just subscribers .. which would probably be the case with a private relay, right? But as file storage is expensive I reckon having paid for relays will become quite common especially for video creators.

Everybody will see the posted link from all of the above apart from the last one which is made with the purpose to deliver to the subscribers exclusively and users of the relay. For the rest your nost client is connected to as many relays as you want and the published link is visible to any of their users.

You can get a plan at https://nostr.build/plans/ and have it work seamlessly with majority of clients. I am also working on a video transcoding feature so it is delivered in a fast and comfortable way 🐢🐾🫑
