Unpopular opinion:
To me, most face-to-face encounters could have been a videocall.
Most videocalls could have been audiocalls (then I can be naked in the sauna)
Most audiocalls could have been a voice message on signal (I can listen and respond when I want and listen on 2x)
Most voice messages could have been signal texts or emails
Most emails I don't have to read at all and can just delete them straight away.

For conducting business, as well as for social engagement, I prefer to meet face to face, at least initially. After that, I agree that most things can be handled by email if they are not important enough to meet face to face again. All the stuff in the the middle is just annoying and a poor use of someone's time.
