I’m not saying FinCEN was in our offices “auditing” us while this all happened but if they were I would have spent all day on X screaming about it… which is exactly what I was doing.
Courts are dismissing charges following Todd Blanche's memo ordering the Department of Justice to stand down in cases involving cryptocurrencies where the law is ambiguous.
Meanwhile, SDNY is attempting to send three developers to prison for *decades* for a crime not even FinCEN knew existed.
The only point of the Samourai Wallet and Tornado Cash prosecutions is to rewrite the law. It was illegal then, and it certainly is illegal now.
