Here in El Salvador as well, there are no screens. Thankfully the mosquitos just seem to enjoy my warmth but don't bite, and a bat flies in once or twice a night to eat a few of them.

yeah, i can understand it from the perspective of it being marginal value but the windows, in general, on this island are awful
doors also...
a key phenomenon that is very common here is sudden gusts of wind out of nowhere that are so strong they slam windows and doors
yet sliding windows, doors and shutters are almost nonexistent
there is a few, more modern buildings i've seen with this issue in mind but they are pretty uncommon
fiat real estate and fiat construction, it's a bane of my existence
Is the owner around enough to bring it up? Maybe get his approval to install screens and sliding doors. I bet there's tutorials for that on youtube
housing in late fiat 2020s is so far beyond repair
good luck even finding materials that are engineered to last more than 10 years these days
