I’ll check it out. Looking forward to it. The writing in their music is so good. And I like the unabashed discussion of our smallness in relation to God but which in no way diminishes the profundity of ordinary human life.
Ten Stories is amazing. It's about God freeing everyone; the Elephant is Jesus, the animals are individuals and the circus is all they know. The opening song is the train wreck and the start of the elephant freeing the animals, some animals flee, others do not. Some are conditioned to be prisoners, proud like peacocks, or alone like the last Tigers. Others flee, to "find" themselves outside of the circus. The elephant gets captured and put on trial. Fox and Bear try to find love.
Each track is a story, each animal personified.
It's so intertwined in scripture and story - and the best part is the band adds SO much instrumentally to the lyrics. In the first track, it the actually sound like a train chugging along. Flawless album.
Reading that gave me chills looking forward to this brother.
