I believe this about several other breeds like the pug, certain bull dogs, etc but pitbull lovers seem to be the most triggered.

In our local dog shelter, just about every dog was a pit bull, or pit mix.
they're pretty common these days, especially mixed. Staffies too. They have the same look. Genuine pitbulls are fighting dogs through and through.
Walking my pitbull is walking a loaded gun.
indeed, I have a pitbull. Aggressive and trigger happy. Shocking recall too, but she's trained. Alert, fast and got the jaws. I need the attack vector.
Loving dogs and the side eye is wild! They know their violence lol.
I also have a rottweiler - more stoic but a heavyweight.
I'd have a fleet of Rottweilers if I could afford it.
Or, return to the breed standards of 100 years ago. Humans have created genetically weak inbreeds incapable of survival without human intervention. Many modern breeds have trouble walking, giving birth and even breathing.

My basic assertion is that some of these dogs have been poorly bred into compromising health, which could potentially be fixed, however a dog like a pitbull has no other job but fighting., and I bet if you breed their aggression towards humans out of them that they'd essentially become a different breed

They were brees for blood sports that society no longer considers valuable and so their breed should have the same fate.

I'm not saying any living dogs should be killed, just that they should be sterilized as a whole, 100%
People who like these modern freakshow breeds are best avoided. Their emotional depth matches the caricature of the animal versus the wild genetics
