Yes, you can run a full node on your PC if you've got the HD space to absorb it. Currently like 520 GB in size I believe
Wow my old engineering PCโs from 2010 I got for free only have like 280gb. They wonโt be able to sync with the network I guess. I literally only use them for CPU mining Bitcoin on CryptoTab so I might download the wallet anyways. From what I remember you can CPU mine on it.

A Raspberry pi4 can run a node. Downloading over TOR isnt the fastest but it's mostly verifying the blocks. Give it a few days and it should be good! If you go for @npub1aghreq2dpz3h3799hrawev5gf5zc2kt4ch9ykhp9utt0jd3gdu2qtlmhct you can even use it as a personal relay for Nostr!

Bear in mind that a Lightning channel needs to be online 24/7. So If you want to go for opening channels you'll have to keep it running all the time. If you just want to play around with Lightning and not have something running 24/7 it's best to use other services like getalby
For sure I understand that. These PCโs are already on 24/7 CPU mining on Cryptotab so that wonโt be a problem.

Yeah I only get a few hundred satoshiโs a day with 2 PCโs but itโs decent not super profitable though. I can also mine on my IPhones through cryptotabs server mining and mix my hash rate with my IPhones, so itโs pretty cool. Iโve been doing it for over a year now.
