Hi nostr, we had to come inside for a break since it started raining once again. We just had a bit of a tragedy here on the homestead, so i'm feeling sad. Our old dog TJ, who was about 13 years old, was laying under the truck when my husband went to move it. She usually gets up and moves as soon as she hears a vehicle start up, but i guess this time she was too slow to move, and my husband didnt know she was there. I was in the chicken run and heard a yelp, and ran to see what happened. TJ's injuries were obviously fatal, and we both knew it. She was in alot of pain, so my husband had to put her down. She was a great companion to us, and i'll always picture her playing in the woods. #dogstr #homesteading #TJ

I’m sorry to hear that sad news Fren! My brother had to put down his dog this week due to cancer thankfully they had 14 years with him.
I can’t imagine what you’re going through. My dog went missing in the woods for 2 days this past week. Luckily we got him back but we were heartbroken for a little while thinking we’d never see him again.
Yeah they sure do become a part of the family, its hard to see them go.

Yes it was one of those freak accidents that you never expect. But she had a good, long life in the country, and she was loved.
