Welcome on board! I've run the Bitcoin Node for about 3 years now without doing anything else with umbrel/the umbrel store. Just a week ago i got off my butt and tried to do the impossible: Setting up my own lightning node. Check out Alby/Alby Hub/Alby Extension first, which makes the LN-setup easy as a charm. But unfortunately imho Alby itself is a jungle one has to bleed through (-:
