If you can get clove oil (the active ingredient in Anbesol), it should help numb the area.

If the pain is from an abscess/infection, then oregano oil will seem like a miracle. Be warned, it's hot like a pepper, so it's best to dilute before swishing it around.

When I first used it, my swelling was a fraction of the size within 12-16 hours. By 48 hours, I was sympotom free.

It kills any bacterial infection (cut on finger, etc), and works best by direct application.
