It seems (seemed?) like a lot of public bitcoiners have cheered for DOGE’s futile attempts to reduce the deficit, while ignoring the massive breaches of citizens’ privacy resulting from this administration’s approach.
It’s true that government spending needs to come down, and most bitcoiners understand - better than the majority of Americans - why that’s the case.
But where the hell have the cypherpunk and freedom advocates gone?
Is it just an Elon-fanboy head-in-the-sand thing? Trump-the-savior-syndrome?
Inconsistencies confuse me. Follow the money? Probably…
Anyway, DOGE, the IRS, the DOJ, and the rest want to compile all the disparate data that agencies and companies have about you, and then run that data through AI/LLMs to extract “insights” about “crime”.
Thank you, nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx and nostr:npub1guh5grefa7vkay4ps6udxg8lrqxg2kgr3qh9n4gduxut64nfxq0q9y6hjy, at least pointing these things out. You linked to the article on Palantir in your recent show notes. It was good (and nice to see NYT with no paywall).
Here’s another one 🤝
