Alas, for MYR or myr make no difference to anyone's understanding. It always refers to the currency itself. No one need to talk about or describe MYR as a network or protocol.

exactly. so using the word Bitcoin Protocol would be a better way to differentiate between the two.

btc is unique in the sense that is it both a financial instrument and a technological tool

Yes, no one can control Bitcoin but I have full custody and control over my bitcoin.
