The number of people abusing the pre-board status for actual handicapped people on Southwest flights is an abhorrent perversion of humanity and morality. These are despicable human beings.

I agree. And am certain it happens. Catch is you can't tell who's really handicapped. For example I know someone with severe mental illness. But you might not know it as a casual observer. But this person would benefit greatly from boarding early due to what crowds and lines do to them. So it's based on trust. Humans violate trust.
These were very obvious system gamers. Not a problem amongst any of them.
