Imagine the possibilities if one was to take 0.01% of 44 billion and put it towards nostr development. The relays, clients, and NIPs would be insane.
Discussion
Now change that to 0.1% and the scale gets even crazier.
That 4.4 million. I think #[2] gave them more than that like 1.5 months ago.
That 14 bitcoin may be more symbolic than most realize.
Yeah I need to do more
Well, we have Bitcoin and we Nostr. How about the forest for the trees? Let’s focus on the big picture. You have the platform.
🤙💜⚡️
You’ve done a ton. I’m more commenting on the symbolism of egregious purchases.
don’t fund too much, imo: we want the right incentives and too much funding might attract the wrong people
You must atone for what Twitter became under your watch!
Ok lord!
Y’all need help if it’s that serious. Also brah you ever thought of artist grants? 😅
I think people are misconstruing the point I was trying to make. 44 billion is a LOT of money. I’m not here to blast those that are and have contributed massively to nostr. They are fighting the good fight and we’re winning as a result.
Oh that was for the person saying repent for your sins. I guess the sarcasm went over my head😅
This is a bit ridiculous statement
Lets think about a counter thought: All that jack is doing for Bitcoin i guess it would count towards that atonement I supose.
#[3]... I declare you free of sin!!
Can I get an amen?
Can i get an halleluyah!?
I think he is by directing all his energy towards Bitcoin and open protocols.
Twitter's fate could not have been averted by anyone. Private companies are vulnerable. Public companies are vulnerable. Ad-based revenue models are vulnerable. If there's a central point of failure, it cannot change the world. It will be devoured by those who control the money, by that power control the world.
Fair point, especially considering what just happened to project veritas. But let's judge a tree by its fruit and not jump to conclusions.
Sell some or all of the shares you still own in Twitter and use the funds to help build out Nostr, relays etc?

Elon ignored your ideas on an open protocol before he bought Twitter anyways.
The ostrich may grow to be a bigger bird and have a larger impact on free speech, privacy and society at large.
That was plan but can’t sell them at moment.
Would like to know your thoughts
Dorsey added that Twitter “should never have been a company,” saying, “that was the original sin,” according to the text messages, which were revealed last month in court filings.
Actually I don't agree with this. There was a time for Twitter to be a company as it was too expensive to build it in a decentralized way at the time.
It's just that now the time to decentralize it.
A company will always be a single point of failure. No way around it.
Yes a company was the way to spread the idea at the time. And in the end it showed the failure points.
@elon i think he will soon join #noster and maybe integrate twitter with #noster
Some ideas are meant to be the mother of all ideas.
Implying we get this money via how?
