Sade Perkins, a former appointee to Houston’s Food Insecurity Board, released a video expressing anger about the media's focus on the missing and dead children in the Texas flash flood. Perkins claims, without evidence, that the families of the girls are racist and that the camp shouldn't deserve sympathy because it is Christian and white. This reaction is a trope of leftists whenever there are events where whites or conservatives are the primary casualties. They believe it distracts from their political agenda and propaganda. The media devotes significant time to black and brown deaths or missing cases, even searching them out and often amplifying hoaxes. The BLM movement was built on wall-to-wall media coverage of fringe cases of violent black suspects being shot or killed by police.
