I don't think so. Even it's target audience is compaining abput poor engagement and heavy handed moderation.
Do you see this a temporary issue as an early phase platform or the ultimate lack of potential to gain enough users in the long run?
In my experience, censorship is built into the platform at the design level. This is only going to get worse. Only if you strictly adhere to the accepted thought will you gain followers there.
That's not just because of the moderation. It's because of how blocks work on the platform. They're very invasive to other users feeds, because of you block me, no one can see my posts in relation to yours and vice versa.
The thought process is that if I'm spreading misinformation or offensive content, and you block me, you save the rest of your followers from seeing that content. Multiply that by an entire platform of people actively blocking people, and it's herd immunity to wrongthink.
💯 they also complain about scammers & difficulty finding eachother's accounts, from what I've seen among people I know who use it.
