On one hand, countries have borders. On the other I have no faith in the government to protect our interests

What is a country?

Already see your point, but there’s never been a time in history where a group of people or culture didn’t need some protection from outsiders. You always needed team work and a leadership to give direction to avoid chaos.

Haven’t made a point. I asked a question.

I thought you were trying to point out the fact that a country inevitably involves having a government by asking the question.

Right so all a country is, is a territory controlled by a government. When you defend a country, you’re really just defending a region with a specific group of slave masters. It’s bizarre imo.

You’re right if a county is just that — territory controlled by a government. I think a government is just one component that makes a county.

Country*

There is nothing else that makes it a country which I can think of. Im glad to be proven wrong.

Africa is rife with conflict due to colonial borders. In fact most parts of the world.

I’m not sure if that’s true

How?

It's literally always happening.

Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Palestine, Sahara, Guyana, Taiwan, Sudan, Ethiopia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Khasmir.

Berlin Wall, Soviet Union collapse.

Borders, or the construct of them, is what has sperated people, tribes and cultures for centuries.

I know they separated people, but I’m not sure how it caused the poor outcomes of the cultures you just listed. What about the prosperous countries that have borders?

What prosperous country are you talking about? Maybe on another planet?

Western countries

The UK? Germany? France? Which western countries? Canada?
