Ubuntu and Debian are the two most commented on my post. I know Ubuntu is usually peoples first Linux distro. How does Debian compare? Is there a learning curve? Is it more secure, reliable, or updated more frequently? Will it be too complex for a Linux beginner? Thanks for all the replies! #asknostr

Ubuntu is Opinionated Debian.

Throw the cinnamon theme on top and you’ll probably like it more.

Good to know!

P.s. I sell nodes & the laptops/desktops come with my time so you can learn things like this.

I like linux mint.

The quality of the community is often overlooked. Is it friendly and accepting of new users to Linux? Is it easy to get answers to questions you ask?

Remove as many barriers as possible to make your journey easier.

The earlier recommendation for Linux Mint is a good one. Based on Ubuntu and Debian.
