I am leaning into this train of thought more heavily. I opt out of the broken financial system, why should I not opt out of the political system?

Good choice

Many do not understand the power of not voting.

What if only 1% voted in a democracy?

You would delegitimize the system.

In the worst case scenario, what the 1% voted for is taken as valid, uncovering the farce of modern democracy.

In the best case, the system cannot continue since it has no legitimacy and must be re-founded.

The pinnacle of opting out would be moving to Mars. I want that option.

Vote for Musk! Lol!

I decided this years ago.

Since I don't want other people decide over my life I have no right to decide over their lives by voting someone to force his ideas via state by force.

Sure in practical ways one vote has no meaning at all, so in reality it has no influence, but it is more of a moral stance.

Yup. That's one of the big factors in my decision.
