So help me understand, in what context does one use a “Zap”?
When a like isn’t enough! Good news is that sats are still ~1,000 to the dollar, so sending someone 20 sats via a zap on a post you like is like 2 pennies. If you load up $50 worth of BTC in the lightning wallet attached to your account (mine is embedded in primal), you can zap away for a long time without having to refill. But you are passing along actual value instead of cheap likes. If someone makes a post that accumulates 10,000 sats, they made $10 bucks. Not huge but not nothing. Instead of your eyeballs being sold through a third party to advertisers via rage bait, you are rewarding stuff you find valuable, and thus are more likely to get more of that stuff.
