I will say that there is no solution other than biting the bullet. We have to build shit in America or we’re fucked. Waiting until next year only makes the problem one year worse.
This is not a comment on tariffs or anything like that, this is just a simple statement of fact that as our currency gets weaker, we will either go back to building and manufacturing shit, or we will starve.

But dollarydoos are not the global reserve currency - your US dollars are.
You can either maintain dollar hegemony (as Trump has insisted he wants), or you can reshore manufacturing (which Trump also insists he wants) - but you can’t do both.
Unfortunately for the world I think you’re going to dollarise allies and create a new shitty new empire of nations who will enable a Frankenstein model where the US tries to do both at ever increasing expense to the vassal states.
It’s going to be awful for everyone involved, and those on the other side of the new dollar curtain will be better off than those inside.
