I didn't even realize that this is an issue that commands how women lead their lives, until I just quit my job and everyone is horrified and they don't calm down until I say that I'm studying at college.
Then they're like...
Ooooh... That's okay then.
And it's like, OMG I'm going to have to study or work forever, or I'll never have friends.
This helps explain why it seems like every "former SAHM" I know is working on their Master's Degree or Ph.D. 😂
Keep up appearances, so people don't think you're just house decoration.

I have a friend who has 2 Masters and an E.D. and she's working on a Ph.D. now. Like she's being chased by the ghosts of homemaking past.
SHE WILL NEVER LIVE IT DOWN! 😂
people are shit
thanks for reminding me how little they actually care about anything other than symbols of wealth and care nothing for the simple things that matter like justice and love and wisdom

the banker funded movement towards feminism is almost at its end, thank God
after the impending giant disasters that this shit show has got coming people are gonna value the SAHM a lot more because they will know that she is the pillar of society, without which people have no attachment to their home, family, or village, and such people only end up causing shit in the world
The funny part is that nobody even asks me if my quitting my job reduced our net income.
Everyone knows I didn't work, so that we could have more money. I worked, so that I could tell people that I worked.
you are a rare bird, lady... the rest of them are so glued to their status updates and have to make up shit so they don't lose friends while you are like "hah, i got plenty of friends here, they love listening to what i talk about, and they don't expect me to lie to them"
Yeah, basically.
Or maybe I'm just socially retarded.
well, this "social" thing that entails constant, and obvious lying doesn't sound like anything that we want in our society anyway... sounds more like a hierarchy of abuse to me

Some of the most important jobs are unpaid. A person who can make things happen and get things done without requiring a paycheck to motivate them is a person of value.
I was supposed to be learning more boolean algebra today like the Master Theorem and practicing inverting insertion sorts, but I went and cleaned the house and organized the closets, instead.
This is why I have no college degree and I'm such a disappointment to everyone. I'm some sort of an idiot.
The worst is when I try to focus on something and the voice in my head gets really loud and starts ranting at me to focus and think and it gets mean and just goes on and on and on and doesn't shut up and I can't hear my own thoughts over the ranting and I give up and go clean something or dig up weeds, and my husband comes home and is like, Hi 😊, did you get the practice drills done?

college degrees are mostly rubbish, having worked as a programmer for a lot of the last 8 years i can say that the only thing that really matters is architecture, that's the stuff i struggle with, everything else you can learn as you work
You don't get a college degree in order to do something, you get it to be something.
completely screwed up incentives
