iff you are a competent sysadmin and have time in your hands go for it. if not it's fucking hell on earth and people do it for ideological reasons, it's not rational.

that's cool and I respect it but are the headaches worth it? definitely not for me
I love the idea of it, wish it was as easy as running a Bitcoin node.
I tried in the past and couldn't be bothered with the routing errors and losing money opening and closing channels.
