I have successfully started comfrey bocking 14 variety. I've tried before but this is the first time it's stayed alive.

I am in zone 8. Last time I got root cuttings. This time around I got a plant with leaves.

That shouldn't have mattered imho.

Did you change the depth of planting? The spot? Time of year?

My current theory is that the leafed out version got energy faster go gkt growing. The last batch was root cuttings I planted pretty sure in spring.l but I don't recall the depth.
