The problem begins when discussions become ideologically charged. Then it is no longer about facts and finding out what is right/good or wrong/bad. If you can say that about things at all. Then the deliberate manipulation of people is often in the foreground, in order to manipulate them and thus win them over. It does not play a role, which "side" appears. The people, that is, all of us, are deprived of the opportunity to really inform yourself and then decide on your own responsibility.

It’s unfortunate. Everything is so profit driven that sensationalism is the standard now. Investigative journalism is dead. You have to be a savvy consumer of information, understand statistics, and know how to access databases, research articles, and other primary sources to truly know what is going on. I don’t know about Europeans, but the average American cannot do this, thanks to the way public education has been destroyed over the last few decades. An uneducated populace is one that is easily manipulated. The bar has been raised, and so many people are unable to reach it because they’ve been robbed of the tools to do so.
