I think the secret key to #value4value is a relationship of trust and mutual respect. When that exists it’s almost like you start to try to “out give” each other, with the underlying value being exchanged in various ways. Sometimes it’s money and sometimes it’s other things or actions. But without that mutual respect for each other, then people start to simply try and take as much out of other people as they can without giving anything in return.
