Why do Chinese people’s faces turn red with wine?
This is a real thing.
Did not know that.
Interesting.
Just wine?
Actually not just wine.. I do t drink much but it happens with any alcohol.
I can always tell when a Chinese person has had a drink their faces turn red instantly
If I’m not wrong, it’s the combination of pale skin and biologically lower tolerance to alcohol.
Compared with Caucasian people, who have pale skin but higher tolerance to alcohol. We can turn red too, just usually after more.
I think it’s on a cellular level, there’s some organelle that behaves differently genetically.

Genetics is why. I used to have a Chinese friend who could out-drink me any time, but he would be beetroot-red after the first glass :-D
I thought people whose faces turn red drinking alcohol were allergic to it?
