In my view adding this simple change to the way client feeds work would massively increase the value of nostr - as currently there's just too much going on and it's easy to miss valuable posts. The trending section of Primal is great - but I don't believe it serves the same purpose.

Do any clients offer this right now?

From nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqyv8wumn8ghj7urjv4kkjatd9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wsqzpq35r7yzkm4te5460u00jz4djcw0qa90zku7739qn7wj4ralhe4z6d283f :

"What we decided to do is ... you're on the app, and then you go away, and then you come back to it, let's say, after like 3 hours, and you're following a 1000 people. When you have to go reverse through a 1000 people to see what you missed, like, it's it's what Nostr is today ... You can't do that. It just takes time, and it takes time away from what else you could be doing. So our first algorithm was called while you're away, and it would try to figure out what you are most likely to engage with in terms of like, what you tend to look at more or you you reply to. And it would put 8 of those tweets at the top. And then underneath, it's the the full reverse cron. And we kept that for 2 years."

Has anyone implemented this?

A simple catch up section to the main feed would make the nostr experience so much better.

Oh nice - will check it out!

It also has a unique iPad experience that includes running multiple feeds simultaneously, and a solid web of trust filter.

It's a really well out together app.

I believe nostr:nprofile1qqs04xzt6ldm9qhs0ctw0t58kf4z57umjzmjg6jywu0seadwtqqc75spz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsz9mhwden5te0wfjkccte9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wshszxnhwden5te0wpuhyctdd9jzuenfv96x5ctx9e3k7mf0dv4ph5 (or someone else) made a DVM for this a long while back. The DVM essentially did this, creating a you might have missed feed. I don't see the DVM on Amethyst now, so I assume it's defunct 😩

DVMs are a great spec - but unless they are implemented with simple UX in your main client feed then it’s quite hard to learn they exist

DVMs also have issues where people could rely on them and then they go away for whatever reason.

I don’t see anything in the Primal Feed Marketplace that fits that description...yet

I think the feed marketplace is great for advanced users - but for the majority that just open their main nostr client occasionally it should just be there by default - just like nostr:nprofile1qqsgydql3q4ka27d9wnlrmus4tvkrnc8ftc4h8h5fgyln54gl0a7dgspp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqpxdmhxue69uhkuamr9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wshkz7tkdfkx26tvd4urqctvxa4ryur3wsergut9vsch5dmp8pese6nj96 did at Twitter

Planning something like this, you can also use anchor.coracle.social to get daily/weekly digests for any custom feed created in coracle.
