Imagine if you could listen to a music track and auto zap it every X seconds. This is how I envisioned zapstr to work.

1. Listen to 30 seconds for free

2. Auto zap track after that

3. If reach the end of the track, you unlock a download button and the track is no longer auto zapped. You own a copy in your library. You can listen to it as long as you like.

I think this could be a good model for musicians. Of course, you can also zap them on top of the auto zap if you like.

What's wrong with this vision? Let me know...

nostr:npub1v0lxxxxutpvrelsksy8cdhgfux9l6a42hsj2qzquu2zk7vc9qnkszrqj49 can we make this a reality? ;)

That's a brilliant idea i would definitely use it, and if it auto notify me for when that npub published again would be great(artist that i chose to download)

absolutely!

Works for videos/movies too

It bothers me that I can buy something on Amazon video or Apple TV, yet I don’t own the underlying MP4 and if my subscription expires or if they cancel it or stop offering it or sunset the service then I can no longer watch what I purchased

Exactly. I think you should own a copy after paying sufficiently for it (like as in rental). I think nostr and zaps fix this.

Do you see services like this always having an integrated wallet in the application?

Can’t exactly authorize payments every second/minute

Seems like I’ll just have sats fragmented across several apps

Which is only a small nuisance, but curious on your take on

Sounds over complicated. I can already listen to music in nostr:npub1v5ufyh4lkeslgxxcclg8f0hzazhaw7rsrhvfquxzm2fk64c72hps45n0v5 and just stream X sats/min or send the artist a Boost.

I know this isn’t using “Nostr” but it’s been working great for podcasts so far.

Where do the streamed sats go? Sounds exactly like autozap tbh, but without nostr advantage.

No reason you couldn't zap in addition to streaming.

They go wherever the artists wants them to go based off of the Splits in the ValueBlock that’s in their RSS feed. Right now you can use a Fountain wallet, Alby wallet or your own node since it uses keysend payments.

Same thing PC 2.0 has been using for podcast but now it’s just a song instead.

This all shows up if you click “splits” (won’t load right now) or go to your wallet after the sats are sent.

Sounds cool

Wow you are running your own #Zapathon with that thing 😂

Much appreciated friend 😂

😲

What platform would that be? Is there one or is it a concept? Love it!

Web for starters. I designed this for zapstr, but the vision was never achieved.

Damn pretty revolutionary. How far is the development?

I hear if you zap a certain dev enough, it will become a reality in a few weeks

In addition what if you could curate playlists off of it.

For example nostr:npub12hcytyr8fumy3axde8wgeced523gyp6v6zczqktwuqeaztfc2xzsz3rdp4 radio playing and I hear a track I like. I zap and then am able to create a playlist I can play on my “personal” zap.stream? Or would this just be a regular account.

Like the simplicity of the idea and artists could always change the required zap too.

Kinda sounds like sats streaming in fountain, but for songs instead. I like it.

I think the challenge would be getting the quantity and quality of content into the catalog to warrant use.
