They're a funny one as they can vary in flavour from fruit to fruit even from the same tree.
I got about 7 fruit last year & none were great. All very bland. I've planted a few more trees from seeds off my friends tree which are much tastier. Might be 2-3 years before they're big enough to hold them though.
The size and amount of blossoms this year is just amazing. The bees love them. Look at the size of the bee compared to the flower!
Interesting. Do the branches support the weight of the fruit well? I'm already worrying about that with my tiny Meyer lemons.
Yeah - they grow faster than most citrus. Best to prune off the longest branches after they've fruited to stimulate growth & reduce the risk of breaks.
I had a mandarin tree lose a big branch a year ago because it was laden with fruit. I hadn't gotten to pruning it for a while.
How tall do the trees get?
Not much bigger than your average citrus.
I snip the water shoots (ones going straight up). Nobody wants use a ladder to pick fruit.
