#bitcoin tops fiat because of instant settlement. There’s no waiting for “X business days” for your transaction to clear.

As for using it in payments, yes. And it was soooo much easier 🧡🙏 No filling out tons of stuff and doxing my info. Just copy and paste an address or scan a QR code.

There are millions of people they don’t have bank accounts neither they are eligible to open a bank account according to bank . When there is crisis people can convert their whole asset to bitcoin and go anywhere in the world without carry anything

Well of course the obvious, it banks the unbanked and arrive 6 billion people who normally cant afford it to have a monetary system/payment system and are excludet from the world. For me as a blessed westerner which have all the Luxus our corrupt and old but for the User smooth banking system gives me there is one big Personal advantage. Far to often i want to make a transaction at the weekend or in the evening and have to weit a day or the whole weekend Till i can send or recieve anything because the bank working day is over. With Bitcoin i can send and recieve 24/7 and with lightning without waiting.

I'm not a merchant but I hear chargebacks are a major pain in the a$$. #Bitcoin (and ⚡) fixes this with settlement that is final.

I had a very early Bitcoin wallet (around 2012) which was a node although I didn’t fully realise it at the time. I spent some of the sats which if I remember correctly was 0.05 BTC on a gift card . I lost the rest when my computer broke down. 😄🤷‍♀️

Anyone who has dealt with international wires knows exactly how slow and inefficient tradfi can be. I’ve sent dozens of wires to China and they take 4-10 days, you have no idea where the debit-message is within the half-dozen intermediaries it has to pass through, and are left hopefully waiting the process be executed without a human error - which do happen.

Bitcoin on-chain value-transfer works at light speed relative to international wires. It’s also cheaper, programatic (no worry about errors) and require no trust and no permission. From an operations perspective bitcoin is at minimum 10x more efficient than legacy system. Likely more.

Another arena where #Bitcoin shines is when executing a real estate tx.

Anyone who has sold a house knows that it takes a week+ for the banks / lenders / escrow to complete the transaction. It also “costs” the seller thousands between all of the intermediaries taking a bite.

Bitcoin can simplify real estate value-transfer in a big way. Lowers the cost and speeds up tx by two orders of magnitude.

I am very new to Bitcoin. I have been in it about 4 weeks. I have already started my own Bitcoin an lightning node. The lightning network is an absolute paradigm shift in the way money flows. Just with the zaps in nostr alone, it has the ability to incentivize better posting. I am not sure we even know the effect that this will have in social media. It is still very early.
