State and Stasis are nearly synonyms... it really captures the retarding effect of governments on humanity
look at the state of science now that it's almost completely captured by government and stasis-promoting interests (ie, power, who don't want to cede control)
I think the Fiat Academia thing was well described in Fiat Standard .
