Yeah I’m probably too predictable, but I couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to say things like: “it’s frickin cold in here Mr. Bigglesworth” or sing “I like chicken, I like liver, meow mix meow mix please deliver”

Oh, I get it, especially when she has been raised on a raw meat ancestral diet. She's my baby and my sidekick. Only the best for Miss Moxie.

*shudders*

You should hear her crunch through raw chicken necks and feet. She loves them; they are a great source of calcium, and they help keep her teeth clean.

Oooh what do you feed ?? I want to upgrade my kitties diet , lead me to some

Info

Just raw chick and chicken necks/feet are snacks/supplements (they have soft bones and won't splinter if they are not microwaved or cooked). The necks and feet are great sources of calcium that keep teeth clean. For everyday food, I buy a complete raw diet that arrives frozen monthly. I used to use Darwin's:

https://www.darwinspet.com/

...but their packs started leaking blood on the fridge when I defrosted them, so now I use Rebel Raw.

Another option is:

I usually go with Rebel Raw's Mystic Chicken, but you can mix and match. Orders over $200 qualify for free shipping. I order 16 oz packs, and they arrive quickly, packed in dry ice.

Just put a pack in the fridge, let it thaw, and use it within 3 days. I put the second pack in to start thawing on day 2, etc.

I weigh out the defrosted meal(s) in sandwich baggies (calculating for the weight of the baggie). When it's time to feed, I put one baggie in a cup of tap-hot water until it comes to a warm temperature, then I serve (do not microwave).

You can use this site to calculate food by age, weight, and activity of breed. Since Moxie is a Sphynx and is an active muscular breed, I calculate her at 5% body weight. She currently gets ~115g twice a day.

Let me know if you have any questions.

did the same thing for my dog, raw chicken necks and eggs. she lost excess weight instantly and became super canine 🐺

…the best part was that the “dog smell” went away completely. turns out that it’s not a dog smell at all. just the smell of living on an evolutionarily inappropriate diet

Same with Moxie, and her stool on raw food is less smelly. Also, cats should get most (80%+) of their hydration from food. If a cat needs more water, they are dehydrated.

exactly! desert creatures

To be clear, I mean chicken necks/feet have soft bones. I don't feed her large chicken bones. If you supplement with soft bones, just monitor them to make sure they get used to eating them safely.

Thank you 🙏

You are quite welcome. I forgot to mention Stella & Chewy's. If you are uncomfortable, or it's inconvenient to deal with raw meat, then their food comes dehydrated.

Check out Jackson Galaxy's first three videos here on cat nutrition (The Food, The Bad & The Ugly), they are wonderful:

Il not uncomfortable with raw meat its the reality 😉

Savage

Omg! Cannot believe you have a naked cat…what kind is she?

I love them!

Thank you. She is a Sphynx.

Wish you are having a great starting of the year! 🤗

Same to you, friend. 🤗🙏

What’s your experience with her compared to a normal house cat? Similar temperament or different?

Much more like a dog (in a good way), in that she's with me every step of the way. Her bed is in place of the pillow next to mine, and she has slept next to me every night since I got her at 8 weeks. She's an active, muscular breed—quiet, yet super loving. If you want a window cat that is aloof, a Sphynx is not the breed for you. I've heard males are even more relaxed and snuggly, but I wanted a girl... I have never had a better cat—she's the best.

They need reasonably regular baths and ear cleaning—but it's like caring for a baby, I don't mind it. They also eat a lot due to their high metabolism, and need good nutrition, so I recommend an ancestral raw meat diet with supplemental chicken necks/feet for calcium and teeth cleaning.
