Here’s why many people assume those who think homosexuality is “morally deplorable” are closeted gays:

In order to think something is immoral, you must believe it’s a choice. One cannot be morally responsible for something in which he has no choice.

So if being gay is morally wrong, then gays are gay by choice, i.e., they could be straight, but they give into the temptation of being gay.

But many straight people (like myself) have zero temptation toward being gay. I have temptation toward women other than my wife, I have temptation toward foods, alcohol, nicotine, etc. but zero toward being gay. Just not a thing I need to resist. So being straight in my case is not morally correct because it is not a choice.

So when you morally judge others for being gay, it sounds like you are saying you were able to make the right *choice* while they were too weak. Which sounds like it was a choice for you, which means you are tempted to be gay, which basically means you are kind of gay. Not that there’s anything “wrong” with that — because that you are kind of gay (tempted) is not your choice.

Not commenting on any particular people in this thread, just explaining why it’s not weird that those is consider gayness moral depravity are assumed closeted gay by many. (And many who have done so historically have turned out to be closeted gay.)

If COVID never happened, I wouldn’t have thought twice about polio, the vaccine and what we’ve been told.

But they overplayed their hand, and now I literally question everything and what I’m finding in regard to polio is VERY different than what we’ve been told.

We were told a vaccine saved us.

But the more I dig, the more it looks like we were poisoned. And the shot just covered it up.

Let’s talk about DDT (dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane- Ouffa, good luck trying to pronounce that one 😅) and the lies we were fed.

Polio didn’t come out of nowhere.

The symptoms they called "polio" (paralysis, fatigue, muscle weakness, trouble breathing) match DDT poisoning exactly.

And DDT was everywhere. Sprayed on food. On kids. In homes. On cows. On schools.

Nobody was tracking it. Nobody was testing for it.

If your kid got paralyzed in the summer, they just called it polio. (Notice how similar this playbook was to COVID and chalking everything up to a "COVID death")

There was no virus confirmation. Just symptoms and timing.

And the moment the vaccine was released, they changed the definition of polio.

Before 1955, 24 hours of paralysis counted. After the vaccine? Now it had to last 60 days and be confirmed by lab.

What happened to the numbers? They dropped, obviously. Not because the vaccine worked, but because they moved the goalpost which made it harder to classify a case "polio".

Doctors tried to speak up.

Some published research linking DDT spraying to polio symptoms. Others testified in front of Congress.

Why? I want these things:

1) I want a pure-rust solution because that will compile everywhere that rust compiles without system library version issues, people filing bugs related to linking shit that I don't care about. A pure rust solution will be a bit slower but that is OK by me.

2) I want QUIC support

3) I want to hack the CertificateVerifier to simply verify that the public key is exactly as the library consumer expects it to be, rather than trusting CAs and DN namespaces.

4) I wanted a blake3 variant cipher suite (because IMHO blake3 is just better).

A while back I created alt-tls and did (3) cert verifier and (4) blake3 cipher suite. It also satisifed (1) pure rust.

But it didn't have (2) quic support.

Surveying all the providers I could find yielded this:
