If an email is sent to the alias, I can reply using the alias. But can I also write and send an email from the alias? Thanks

These aliases are meant to be a "catch all" type email address that forward mail on. Proton does in fact let you create new email addresses from the settings menu that you can send email from but the primary use case with the aliases is so you don't have to disclose your actual email address when signing up for new accounts.

Yeah I understand that. But every once in a while I need to write an email and initiate it from the alias… it’s pretty rare but it happens sometimes, and then there’s no option for that

this is awesome, been using it for a few weeks

This is great! It would be great in the mobile apo too. Thank you

Excellent work 💪🏼

I also would like to send directly from an alias .. like an extra step in writing an email

From: me@me.me

Alias: notme@notme.notme

To: you@you.you

Subject: Send directly from alias

And my actual email has extra protection.. 👍🏼
