Does anyone have any book suggestions that criticise the core principles of communism/socialism in laymens terms?

F. A. Hayek, [The Fatal Conceit: The Errors of Socialism](https://amzn.to/433vquq)

F. A. Hayek, [The Road to Serfdom](https://amzn.to/49VAy6a)

Henry Hazlitt, [Economics in One Lesson](https://amzn.to/43k223v)

Ludwig von Mises, [Liberalism: The Classical Tradition](https://amzn.to/3v0LAIv)

Thanks man.

Reading Hazlitt actually, great book.

Good stuff! Of those 4, Fatal Conceit probably gets at the heart of the practical problem, and Mises gets at the heart of the main principle at stake. Behind both is the Natural Law first principle, "thou shalt not steal." 🤙🏼

Ill have a chaw on Fatal Concept first methinks. Thanks for your insight.

Adding these to my reading list. The following are the ones I have in my list currently:

'Individualism and Economic order' by Hayek

'For a New Liberty' by Murray Rothbard

'Bureaucracy' by Mises

'Socialism' by Mises

'Origins of Money' by Menger

Thoughts about these?

Excellent choices!

Only qualm I'd have is with a chapter or two in For A New Liberty. Specifically, I think abortion is a clear violation of the Non-Aggression Principle. Other than that, great stuff.

Animal Farm is excellent

I second this. It's really good satire

I like Thomas Sowell, Basic Economics as an introduction to economics. It is for the layman. Describes the problems in socialism and communism quite well.
