Principles matter. If support the govt taxing your enemies they will tax you. If support the govt censoring people you disagree with they will censor you.
You misunderstood me. I don't want him to be punished for something he didn't do. And I want him to have good due process.

The Feds know what bitcoin means to their system. They are taking down one person after another who doesn't want to play by their rules. They can trump up charges on anyone for anything at any moment. They fight bitcoiners with sheer power.

The feds aren't doing this to attack privacy. This is about quelling rebellion. Ver is a guy who sticks it in the face of the System. The System is coming for him and is telling the rest of the people what happens when they try to rebel against it.
Which is exactly why we need to rebel against it more. Because if we do not, then the system will just take itself further and encroach on our rights and liberties. That's what the system does.
Go for it. But keep in mind there are many ways to rebel. Taking them head on isn't going to be productive, and you will to go to jail. Leftists are winning because they took the long view, captured key institutions, and have access to the money printer.
The way we win is to build hearts and minds and capabilities while waiting for the things that gives them power to break.
Focusing on privacy misses the point.
