Seen in our cider apple orchard this morning. Kind of unusual.

Forgive an unknowing heathen, but what's unusual...I think I know, but I have no experience

Blossoms and fruits at the same time.

We had a cold late summer. And now a very warm autumn. Combined with a bone dry first half of the growing season it appears that the tree’s international clock has been messed up

I thought so - I'm seeing it all over down here in Pompey - there was one brave/foolhardy tree that blossomed back in a week of good weather in Feb, then most of the trees didn't gain leaves till mid may, by mid August some were already turning for Autumn. In my mates garden, where she keeps a few wee trees her plum tree grew leaves, lost them all and started over, her apple tree threw everything in to fruiting then started flowering again and is still trying while growing new shoots. It's all over the place.
