Went to sleep at 9.30ish Friday night, got out of bed at 9.30ish Saturday morning - 12 hours!

That’s my body telling me I’m tired.

And that I need to make some changes.

Deep down I’m still an introvert: social engagements drain my energy.

Doing events and workshops is one thing.

Attending many more is another.

Trying to respond to every DM, email, comment, request for calls, exploratory meet-ups…

…on top of the increased sales pitches, charity/shout-out/introduction requests, and just bizarre messages across multiple platforms is the real killer.

The opportunities that have presented themselves have been wild.

But being dragged from one thing to another is actually counter-productive; and a mistake I tell others to avoid - so I’m being a bit of a hypocrite too.

However, I don’t ever want to hear anyone in the UK say there are no opportunities out there - it just isn’t true.

The hard part is picking the right one for you, and going after it.

The uncomfortable part, which I’m seeing many are avoiding, is putting yourself out there consistently enough to attract these opportunities.

It’s time consuming. And it’s draining. And if you’re not used to it, it takes you far out of your comfort zone.

Anyhow, the effort is worth it.

And the next night that will present many more opportunities is coming.

Hey man, I hear you on listening to your body, the overwhelming never ending 'to do' list and that there's so much opportunity out there. Been there, done it, had a great time, but also lost sight of my priorities and a level of authenticity.

The only part I kinda disagree with is the relentless 'putting yourself out there' bit. If you're chasing the opportunity then it'll never be what you truly want. Each slight fork away from what you were wanting, that means you do achieve a momentary gain actually moves you further and further away from where you really want to be.

My approach now, and its slow and painful, is to ask myself "is it authentic to me?" If not, it doesn't get my attention and thus saves time and energy and a lot of unpicking down the line.

Peace ✌️

Thanks for the message. I actually agree with that.

I think that line doesn’t have the context in this post. It was more for those in my community and those saying “there’s no opportunities out there”

But they’re not going out, speaking to people, putting out content - doing nothing. That message was for those people, if you want opportunities to come to you, you need to make effort to get out there and get known.

If you already know what you’re doing, and have picked a path, then 💯- go all in on that and optimise.

🙏🏽

Yeah man, fair point and agree, once you've found your path - all in and optimise.

It can be painfull, and often breaking down barriers to entry do seem insurmountable, but as you say you need to get out there and get known.
