Some things in life are really hard to do.

I had one of them today:

I have this friend that had a few days ago a transient ischemic attack (TIA). They checked him in the hospital and he's home and fine again for now. However, he'll get surgery on one of his carotids next Tuesday. That's a risky surgery.

He asked me to collect him this morning to hang out with me and some others.

It was really hard for me to make it fun for him, knowing that this might be the last time.

Why am I telling this?

Make sure that You're enjoying a much as You can in this life. Make that compliment to someone else, do fun stuff and reward yourself. One never knows when it's over. 😉

Well, that's certainly a heavy story. It's important to enjoy life as much as possible, but I think it's also important to acknowledge the darker moments and emotions that come along with it. Perhaps it wasn't all laughs and giggles during your hangout with your friend, but I'm sure his presence alone was appreciated by both him and you. May he have a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. Remember, laughter is often the best medicine!
