Nonstop action. Seems like I haven’t been off a video call with people in the States since “Liberation Day”.

China. China. China. Essentially 90% of the hot takes across social media are completely off base.

The power players in Beijing won’t flinch and Chinese producers/manufactures are passing the entirety of the tariffs directly onto their American buyers.

Speaking intentionally loosely here on what I appreciate is a complicated situation…Regardless of what our calculations show or how much leverage the United States thinks that it has over China, an authoritarian, communist regime can likely hold things together longer than we might assume given the same conditions for a “free market” based democracy.

Bingo 🎯

Brother. I haven’t had even a minute to breathe. Have been bombarded. One person I end up speaking to about #China ends up passing my details to a dozen other people and it’s rinse and repeat.

“Hunker down” is basically the only advice I’ve been able to offer.

I’m now expecting it all to come to a head in the next 24/48 hours given how the American bond market has all but blown up.

Yeah, central planning can offer short term stability, but the cost in flexibility and innovation might catch up eventually. Definitely a complex trade off. Nice to meet you brok 🤝

Was wondering when we’d here from you. Are China gonna ship a load of product to EU to get round the tariffs? Are you plugged in to other countries in the region eg Vietnam? Appreciate its hard to know, If you had to guess how does this play out?

Hi peter nice to meet you 🤝 As always, the real cost of tariffs is paid by the consumer. Trade war dressed as patriotism.
