Did apple forced you to buy the small-storage one? It’s a free market, anyone can buy the phone he needs…
Discussion
It's a soft force, you become dependent on iCloud, universal copy and paste, shared calendars with F&F and many other proprietary features which discourage you from leaving.
I've been using my Android phone for nearly 2 years, it has all the same features as my iPhone, but if I switched to it exclusively, I would make my life worse and no longer be able to share photos with the family or know what events they have planned.
It is designed that way. in the same way I used to give free server monitoring to my hosting customers or your ISP gives you a free email address.
You still can share photos by email, just send the pictures to them.
Or share a link to your shared google photos if you back up/put 'em in google cloud.
Christ no, never share photos by email.
I worked on the SMTP and IMAP protocols, they were never designed to do this.
Please stop doing this, it offends me and kills mail servers.
Share photos by uploading the image to an online server and email the link.
This is how NOSTR works, your image is uploaded to a single media server and the link to it is embedded in the post.
If you email a photo to say10 friends, you've sent 10 copies of that image to 10 separate mail servers and wasted 10 times the amount of storage. Those mail servers now have to read through your entire image just to read the email into the index so you are still able to see the headers in your mail client.
DON'T DO THIS.
😂😂😂
I do it all the time, I have a 80yo boomer dad.
Maybe you should go ownclod then to protect your feelings.
My wife and her siblings still receive emailed photos from her Dad.
When I visit, he asks me questions about how to embed photos in email.
I can't stop him doing it and I can't bear the thought of it happening, so because of that I only visit my wife's parents once a year.
At least that's the excuse I give 😂
Also, my wife emails herself calendar reminders to her work email.
We nearly divorced over that one 😂 😂 😂
So I probably should stop mailing my daily encrypted gzipped dd hard drive backups via sendmail? 🤔
Too funny. At least get them on nostr:nprofile1qqs9m0fzqe55xa8cp77dcp0cs47sz9l7dnt9q4fmqla0fjaaz2ywtecpr9mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumt0d4hhxarj9ecxjmnt9ud7t8ch
I'm on Tuta, it's quantum resistant you know 😂
My wife's personal email is still the Hotmail account she had before we met.
She works for the NHS, so persuading them to move to Tuta may be a little difficult 😳
Well I work for the LFB and I'm using it. I still have my junk goolag and Hot Male but they get reworked through Duck and then on to Tuta.
What I love about that is replying with Tuta shows the original email address as the sender
Nice 🫡
Couple that with a #GrapheneOS phone and nostr:nprofile1qqsdn44vrgyvte46jcpv9lk7we9zfgrs7jqk04a3kucq345x376dn7spz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumt0wd68ytnsw43qz9thwden5te0v35hgar09ec82c30wfjkccte08ac0p and its the beginnings of freedom
I’m still on iPhone, which I think was the start of this conversation thread 😂
I'm like "I got a new number, but I'm done with SMS; contact us on Signal. Set them up in the app and everything.
...They still text my old number.
I have, in the past, setup private instances of NextCloud for solicitors when transferring documents to prevent them embedding highly confidential documents in completely insecure emails 😳
