sure i need to eat, drink coffee, play tennis, swim, play golf
I don't think people have playing tennis in mind when they say shopping.
I might be weird tho.
shopping is the activity of buying goods and services
Nobody has ever said I went shopping for some swimming.
You're literally the only human saying this. In fact Im starting to suspect you might not be human.

- oh, how marvelous, what did you buy?
- I played golf.
renting a tennis court or buying green fee is buying a service
But nobody calls this shopping. You realize that right?

Shopping is the action of looking for a good price. You can shop around for a good golf club.
But you don't go to your favorite gold club and call it shopping just because you soent money.
Nobody goes to his favorite cofee shop every morning and say "i go shopping every morning".
That's not how people use the word shopping.
Your use if the word shopping = spending.
If i was to gonin a parc full of squirrel that charges 1$ to enter you'd call this shopping.
Thisbis subject is REALLY important to me. I never knew I had such a passion for the word shopping.
