This is a solid question. 2 answers from the hip.

1) Putting out branded content that’s valuable and shareable is the best way to make sure your brand survives in lazy shared content.

2) Theft of great ideas? Well, that’s another matter. An idea, once freed, is not yours. You can use it to deliver value-for-value, which nostr, and other social, is great for. But, so can others. If they outperform you on delivering value for value using the idea then that is good for everyone but you, and you can use their inspiration to catch up to them. This is the real world. Copyrights are great for avoiding impersonations, but suck if they’re just being used to stop progress. The best way to keep others from stealing your identity is to be great at what you do, and users will tamp down the impostr due to their loyalty to your brand because of the value being provided by you. Stop providing value, and your brand gets replaced. It’s the circle of life.

#1 - totally. Love sharing thoughts and helpful content. But what about art? I know a lot of artists shying away from these spaces in fear of just getting fed into a meat grinder of AI. But I suppose that’s the here and now.

1) Proof of work wins when duplication and generative compute is as cheap as free. Your art is worth how you and your viewers use it and are able to know it’s tied to effort and skill. If it’s a painting with Oil on Board, it has value. If it’s generated art or a unique reproducible style, may the value of your copyright rest in peace. Its monetary value just won’t be worth trying to nurture survival in the coming age.

Get good at the stuff robots and software won’t be good at. Everything else do and give for the joy it gives you. It’ll be a wild ride. Value for value should be our mantra now. Copyright likely won’t save us except for our brand identity, of course. Repeated V4V builds our brand and publicly protects it from encroachment.
