How does Border Patrol have any jurisdiction in Minneapolis? I know that Noem and Trump admin give zero fucks about rules and norms, but how is their presence not being more aggressively challenged by state governments?

Media fucks this up all the time too, can’t seem to differentiate between ICE and Border Patrol. They are both under DHS. Many of the leaders of ICE have recently been replaced with Border Patrol agents because Trump admin likes the more aggressive tactics of Border Patrol.

It's more likely that border patrol was in Chicago because Chicago is within a hundred mile radius of a border so they have jurisdiction there.

Watch any news clip from the past few days and you will see some officers wearing Border Patrol insignia. Some wearing ICE insignia and some with just “federal police” or other vague uniform markings.
It’s not a debate or even a question. Border Patrol is operating in Minneapolis alongside Immigration and Custom Enforcement. They are all under the umbrella of DHS led by Kristi Noem.
