I think there was some sort of hoopla about them being eco-friendly, "anti-fornication" beds. My wife showed me some compilations of Olympians showing off beds that were too short for the height of the contestants, showing how little give there was too them, etc. Seemed like the Olympians were rather unimpressed by them.
