My understanding is if when I paste it doesn't end in ".gif" then it's messed up. I added text on tenor, just "gm", generated and then did the usual steps to share (long hold, share, copy) and it failed. Maybe I have to save custom ones to phone.

Okay it worked. So on tenor tap and hold the gif you want then click copy. It should end with .gif

Oh ok, noncustom works fine the way you described, but if you add a caption I guess you have to save to phone and pull from there (kinda makes sense).
